This study investigated the influence of different reinforcement schedules—fixed interval, variable interval, fixed ratio, and variable ratio—on students’ academic achievement in Mathematics in Aba North Local Government Area, Abia State, Nigeria. A descriptive survey design was adopted, with 100 senior secondary school students randomly selected from five schools. Data were gathered using a validated questionnaire (Cronbach α = 0.80) and analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and paired t-tests at a 0.05 significance level. Results revealed that all four reinforcement schedules significantly affected Mathematics achievement. The study concludes that strategic use of reinforcement enhances student motivation, engagement, and performance. It recommends teacher training in reinforcement-based strategies and the inclusion of behavioral learning principles in mathematics pedagogy and curriculum design.
