Abstract

Banggai Kepulauan is one of the regions in Central Sulawesi Province that has a variety of oral literature.One of them is the Baode oral literature.Baode oral literature is a traditional song passed down through generations.This research focuses on the structure, values, and functions of Baode oral literature.Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, recording, and documentation from Baode customary informants in Sobonon Village, Totikum District, Banggai Islands Regency.The research findings reveal the structural elements of Baode, which consist of an introduction, content, and conclusion, as well as the cultural, moral, social, and heroic values contained within it.Its functions include education, entertainment, emotional expression, and social criticism.This research contributes to preserving endangered traditions, emphasizing their role in maintaining cultural identity and passing down local wisdom across generations.
