Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism can take two primary forms:
-
Deliberate Plagiarism – When an author intentionally copies another person's work and presents it as their own.
-
Self-Plagiarism (Duplicate Publication) – When an author republishes their own previously published work, either in whole or in part, without proper citation.
Plagiarism Detection Before Publication
The International Journal of Applied Research and Sustainable Sciences (IJARSS) carefully evaluates every plagiarism complaint on a case-by-case basis. If plagiarism is detected by editors, peer reviewers, or editorial staff at any stage before publication—including pre-acceptance, during editing, or in the page proof stage—authors will be notified and required to either rewrite the plagiarized text or cite the original source correctly.
If significant plagiarism (defined as at least 20% of the submission) is found, the manuscript may be rejected, and the author’s institution or employer may be informed.
When is Plagiarism Checked?
Every manuscript submitted to IJARSS undergoes a plagiarism check before it is assigned to an editor for review.
Plagiarism Detection Method
IJARSS employs PlagScan and Turnitin to check for overlapping or similar content in submitted manuscripts. PlagScan is an online, browser-based plagiarism detection service that verifies document authenticity.
Plagiarism Limitations
In some cases, plagiarism detection tools may not identify copied content due to restrictions imposed by journals, publishers, or indexing services. Some articles may not yet be indexed or freely accessible, limiting the system’s ability to match text to the original source.
Plagiarism Declaration
All authors submitting to IJARSS must complete and submit a Plagiarism-Free Declaration as an additional file in the Open Journal System (OJS).
Authors should download the plagiarism declaration form and submit it along with their manuscript via email (admin@multitechpublisher.com) or through the OJS system.
